Building youth citizenship is a strategic issue in the democratic development of Latin American societies, considering the impact of their number in face of the population boom. In this sense, young citizens are central players in the process of planning and implementing public policies.However, in order to have an interested and participative youth, solid bases to support the democratic values should be institutionalized, through a process of political socialization.In this book, the research data are analyzed from different theoretical-methodological perspectives in the different chapters of this book. I believe the proposed discussions provide important subsidies for thinking about ways of empowering young citizens with a view to promoting democratic governance.
